DESCRIPTION:“I live in Nantes\, a city of half a million inhabitants in t
 he west\nof France\, at the mouth of the Loire river\, the longest in Fran
 ce. I\nhave been influenced by both the river and the Atlantic Ocean: wate
 rs\nand tides\, winds\, ships and shipyards\, salt marshes are for me dail
 y\ninfluencing elements which nourish my imagination. I try to convey\nthe
 se into my paintings in an abstract way.”  Anne is a self-taught\nart q
 uilter who lives in Nantes\, France. Her art is mostly abstract\,\nsometim
 es hinting at landscapes but never really representational. She\nmostly pi
 eces and machine quilts\, using fabrics inherited from her\ngreat grandmot
 her’s dowry- white cotton and linen sheets and\ntablecloths that she dye
 s and prints. Her colors are bold and bright\nand indeed\, her focus is li
 ght and colors : she is well aware that the\nuse of colors has a therapeut
 ic effect on people and she rejoices when\nvisitors tell her that looking 
 at one of her quilts makes them feel\ngood. Several of her textile paintin
 gs have been juried in the US and\nin Europe in the last couple of years.
