The Fort Miles Historical Association Annual Meeting
Please join us for our Annual Meeting and Lecture on Saturday March 14, 2025 at 10:00am in the Fort Miles Officers Club at Cape Henlopen State Park. During this event we will be reviewing our 2025 accomplishments and our plans for the future.
Our 5th lecture this season will immediately follow the meeting.
The Lecture: 8” Railway Guns at Fort Miles
Mr. Winn has gathered considerable data about the 8” Railway Guns at Ft. Miles and how they operated. The 8” guns are often mentioned as part of the Ft. Miles arsenal but the details of their operation are rarely explained. Here is your chance to learn something new!
When: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026; Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee, donuts, bagels and mingling with fellow members and volunteers
Where: Fort Miles Officers Club at the Cape Henlopen State Park.
Cost: Free lecture
Those attending are asked to consider a donation to support Fort Miles.
About the Speaker:
Harry Winn Joined FMHA in 2010. He has served on the FMHA board of directors as treasurer and currently helps as a bunker buster, recruiter and time tracker for volunteers. Born in Wisconsin to a family with a Military tradition back to the civil war, Harry served honorably in the US Marine Corp Reserves. Harry received an undergraduate degree in Finance at the University of Wisconsin, received an MBA from Northwestern University, became a Certified Public Accountant and worked as the Treasurer or Chief Financial Officer with 5 NYSE companies.
