Mispillion Art League to Host 20th Anniversary Gala

Sep 14, 2024 • 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Enjoy an evening in downtown Milford and celebrate the history of Mispillion Art League at their 20th Anniversary Gala. MAL will honor those who worked together to form the organization 20 years ago and share how the community has carried their legacy on to 2024.

Mispillion Art League was founded as a non-profit in 2004 by a small group of art-lovers with a mission to provide community-wide access to quality visual arts programs. The organization began by hosting a few classes and semi-annual exhibits along with establishing an outreach program. Now, the league offers around 80 classes and upward of 5 exhibits annually as well as outreach classes to students from KSI, Salvation Army Creative heARTS, and Home of the Brave. In addition, MAL hosts local events like Open Sketch, opening receptions, and The Big Draw Festival (now “Art for All” Festival).

MAL is run almost exclusively by volunteers and funding is imperative to the continuing the success of the group. While key support comes through the Delaware Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, the league relies largely on corporate sponsors and private donors.

You can support Mispillion Art League by indulging in a night of food, drink, and art! Hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants will be served and live music will be provided by The Music School of Delaware. There will be a silent auction featuring artwork from talented and long-standing league members as well as a bit of interactive artsy fun. You can also catch the Annual Judged & Juried Show and check out the award winners.

The 20th Anniversary Gala will take place on Saturday, September 14, 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Mispillion Art League. Address: 5 N. Walnut St. Milford, DE. Cocktail attire.

Tickets can be purchased for $50 per person or $75 per couple at http://www.MispillionArts.org. Find a link on the homepage or go to http://www.MispillionArts.org/events/20th-anniversary-gala/.
