Delmarva's Maritime past of shipwrecks and piracy is vividly brought back to life here at DiscoverSea Museum. The museum features an ever- changing "edutainment" exhibit. It houses one of the most comprehensive collections of shipwreck artifacts on the Delmarva Peninsula. There are thousands of items on display ranging from gold and Silver bars, coins, weapons, china and items used aboard early day sailing ships. The seashells, marine life tanks and our working lab will help to educate guests of all ages about the aspects of treasures from our ocean's depths.

DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum is an ever-changing exhibit that expands and diversifies with the acquisitions of new artifacts as they are recovered. Our collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic and contains shipwreck artifacts both regional and worldwide.

Through your DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum visit, you will travel through a hands-on experience, which will enable you to shake hands with history.

Admission is free.

This hidden gem of a museum has a lot of sunken ship finds from as late as Alexander the Great's time.
It is truly a museum that is worth your time whenever you're in the Bethany Beach area. What makes it even more special is the owner, Dale, who is a shipwreck finder, salvager and explorer. All of the artifacts on display is from his finds, which is a huge collection and in my opinion deserves to be in an even bigger location. You will find some of Dale's finding in museums around the world too.
If you are lucky to see him at the museum he is always ready to answer your questions and to tell you about the stories behind each find. His stories are informative, captivating and he has a good sense of humor. He makes the experiences even more worthwhile.
As you can see based on this write up, I highly recommend visiting.

Absolutely amazing museum. Its only the second floor of the store. Free. We all loved it. We talked to the man who's collection it is. Very interesting. He said its a faction of what he owns and he rotates it so visit more than once. The people at the ship wreck museum at Del Tech suggested this and im glad they did.

The museum was awesome! They have pirate treasure and weapons. The kids loved it and we used it as an educational stop for our family vacation. The ladies running the shop were so sweet to my girls also! No cost to enter and the shop had some great incense to choose from!
