Fenwick Shores, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Very nice, newish hotel on the ocean block with an easy walk to the beach. One hitch with reservations is that they cannot tell you if you can reserve an ocean front room. You do hear constant traffic from the rooms. The pool is nice. The pool bar does not offer happy hour prices- you need to go to the 1st floor bar. They offer free bikes. But Beware the fine print, they charge $15/day for parking and did not mention it in an email nor when I received my parking sticker. I thought that was deceptive. Overall, a decent stay.

This is a great hotel. The staff is extremely friendly across the board. Room was big enough to handle a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). Housekeeping was attentive daily. On-site restaurant was modest but good enough for a quick bite or breakfast. Pool is heated, staff said 82 degrees but it was not quite there. However, on a sunny October 70 degree day it was still arm enough to use. Beach is one block away although the beach entrance requires walking up and down a hill of sand. Area around the hotel is pretty quiet, mostly residential except for a few restaurants and stores.

We stayed over the last weekend in August and had a lovely time. The rooms are really nice and large. We were upgraded to the king suite which was wonderful. The property is very nice overall. I love that it’s away from the hustle and bustle of Ocean City, but close enough to go there.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. There are 2 things that keep me from giving it 5. The bed was way too firm. I know beds are very subjective, but it made it hard to get a good night sleep. We were also told the morning we checked out that we were not entitled to the food and beverage credit. The woman at the front desk told us we had to use it all before the morning of check out. We have used that for breakfast in the past at other Hilton properties the morning of check out, so that didn’t seem right. I’ve wondered if what we were told was incorrect information. We ended up going to Dunkin Donuts up the street for breakfast instead because the breakfast on property is a bit pricey.

Overall, I would highly recommend this property. I had never stayed at a Tapestry property before and it’s a very nice option in the Hilton portfolio.
