Freddies Beach Bar - Rehoboth Beach
We went to Freddie’s for entertainment and dinner Friday night. We were very impressed. The early evening crooner, Ryan Williamson, sang a variety of songs and has a wonderful voice. We heard there was a new chef so we ordered dinner. Our entrees, Tempura Shrimp, Cauliflower Pizza & Chicken Parmigiana were flavorful. We’d definitely order food there again. After dinner’s drag show had a variety of talented performers and the MC kept us laughing between numbers. If you haven’t been to Freddie’s this year I’d make it a highly priority to try it.

Freddies Beach Bar - Rehoboth Beach
We were in Rehobeth for the Fourth of July weekend and my girlfriend and I neither one of us had ever been to a drag show so we did a little research prior to coming down for the weekend and discovered the Freddys was having a drag show on the fourth, so we decide to go. It was interesting because the owner Fred actually got married that day so the place was decorated up for the wedding for he and his groom And they made a little announcement before the Drive show began. It was fun, entertaining for sure. Neither one of us had any expectations as to what they expect but like I said it was really fun and the performers or drag show Queens did a great job. I was sort of kind of like going to a strip club. They would come out and have costume changes in between and then they would dance around for like two songs and everybody would give them money so it was very interactive. We did actually get there a little before the show started and had some food which was OK it wasn’t great but you know I guess most people are coming there for the culinary side it’s more for the drinking and the entertainment site so nonetheless what we have is good I guess it was to be Expected. My only negative thing was the main woman who sort of announced every person at one point came out wearing a political dress which I thought was classless you know they’re here for being entertainers entertain. We’re not there for your opinion on politics and I just don’t feel like it had any place thereaside from that everything else was great. Have a good time. I would definitely recommend going here and if I were to get back into the area, I probably would go again.

Freddies Beach Bar - Rehoboth Beach
I’ve visited this bar multiple times over the years and have always enjoyed it, which makes last night’s experience even more disappointing. My husband and I were genuinely excited to spend part of our trip there, support the venue, and enjoy the drag performances.
When we arrived around 9PM, the doorman told us they were “full,” which was completely understandable. I politely asked how long the wait might be since we didn’t mind waiting. Instead of a simple explanation, I was met with a loud, stern, and unnecessarily aggressive: “YOU CAN’T. WE ARE FULL AND DONE FOR THE NIGHT.”
Meanwhile, people were actively leaving the venue, yet we were told we couldn’t even try later in the evening. It wasn’t the denial of entry that was upsetting — it was the way it was handled. Hospitality costs nothing, and respect costs even less.
As someone who lives in DC and frequents their sister bar there, I expected far better. Unfortunately, one employee managed to completely overshadow what should have been a fun night out. We left feeling embarrassed, unwelcome, and honestly shocked by how unnecessarily rude the interaction was.
There are too many great bars with talented performers and kind staff to spend money somewhere that treats guests this way. Sadly, we won’t be back — and I certainly won’t be recommending it to others anymore.
