Henlopen Hotel

Location was the only decent part of this hotel. Run by foreigners who only care about an American pay check. For 500$ a night in the summer you have to do better. It’s a joke. The floors were disgusting leaving our feet black everyday. God knows the last time they actually cleaned the floors thoroughly. Loose hairs all over the bed sheets and bathroom not sure if they were the maids or the previous guest but the quality of cleaning was horrible. I know it’s on the beach and an open air hotel but you think they would have a better way of keeping the bugs out or at least killing the ones in your room before you
Get there. The AC unit sounds like a small airplane in your room all night and barely helps if it is humid outside. Oh and if you’re looking for a hotel with guaranteed parking this is NOT it. There idea of a parking garage for ALL their guests is a joke (the design is actually laughable). Don’t offer parking if you don’t have enough parking for all the
Guests. I know it’s an old hotel but my god just sell it or close it down and start new.

The Henlopen has a four star location at the north end of the RB Boardwalk, but otherwise earns no more than two stars. The hotel is a shadow of its former self. The building is about 50 years old, and has seen better times., especially in the bathroom. Housekeeping was a noticeable shortcoming. We had to request specific services such as towel changes. In particular, there was sand on the floor which they never cleaned up. The room could use an easy chair and some additional coat hangers. There is no breakfast or pool. If you come here, keep your expectations low and you will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay here greatly. It's in a perfect location to explore the boardwalk! You are right in the heart of everything. I found the hotel to be clean and well decorated and the hotel staff to be really friendly. We did have a weird incident where my moms parking pass was properly displayed and the information was visible and she got a warning for parking on hotel property some how. They also called us after check in to ask if we had any problems with our rooms. I'm guessing they assigned a guest to a wrong room. Other than those two minor things it was great. They have oranges and really nice coffee in the morning. There's no hot breakfast that I saw. I'd stay here again the next time I want to visit Rehoboth for sure. There is nearby construction going on on a condo or hotel but when I went memorial day weekend they obviously weren't working. The project looked half to 3/4 completed. My estimate is August/September they will be done.
