Movies At Midway

Definitely a throwback movie theater, tickets are cheaper than a lot of chain theaters. Concessions are definitely more affordable than most chain theaters which is surprising because it is the beach and they could price gauge. We’ve seen a few movies in the cube which is considered a Premium Large Format screen. The screen is nice but what’s really cool about that theater is the audio system. The audio quality in that theater definitely makes it a more immersive experience compared to a traditional theater. The Odyssey sounded incredible in this theater.

My friend and I went to see Practical Magic 2 last night at Movies at Midway. Most of the experience was great until the very end. We were celebrating and went to have dinner before the movie. We had leftovers and a dessert to enjoy for my birthday celebration after the movie. Since we were ubering to the theater from dinner we had a brown bag with leftovers inside. WE DID NOT EAT ANY OF THE LEFTOVERS OR DESSERT INSIDE THE THEATER. We purchased two drinks and a popcorn at concessions and watched the movie. When leaving, we walked outside when it dawned on me that I had left our bag inside the theater so I ran back to try and get it before it was tossed. When I arrived back in the cube theater, I saw a woman cleaning up and I let her know we had left something and asking if she threw away a paper bag with leftovers and a cake in it. She went into a complete and utter TIRADE about how she threw it away and that it should have never been allowed into the theater and there is no outside food permitted and that we should know better. This doesn’t seem too bad but her words in conjunction with her attitude and facial expressions made me feel completely belittled. I had no idea we could not have out leftovers in the theater and I told her that I didn’t mean to break any rules it was just that we didn’t have a car to leave it in since we took an uber there. She didn’t soften one bit. She proceeded with the same attitude and spoke to me so cruelly and disrespectfully that I ended up apologizing that she was so upset about it. The situation not only wrecked our birthday celebration because I left the bag (which is on me) but the utter distain I was met with by this woman was enough to keep me away from Movies at Midway moving forward.

1st time at this movie theater. It was a rainy day in Rehoboth so we knew the place would be packed. We bought tickets “on-line” to avoid line hassles. SURPRISE! After standing in a line, and I mean a slow, long line. We were told you have to go to the kiosk to print your ticket. You take the time to order tickets on-line just to have to stand in a kiosk line to “print” your ticket! Now what for sense does that make!? I have never seen so many frustrated people. They need to fix this!
