The Ice Cream Store

Honestly the best ice cream place I’ve ever been to. I went there a few months ago and no ice cream I’ve had since can compare. I could go on and on about the creativity of their flavors and their kind service, but it’s better to just experience it yourself (and all of their awards are there to show for it). Personally, I loved their All Nighter flavor. I would come back here every night if I could!

I went to the ice cream store yesterday with my partner and had a horrible experience. My wife chose the ice cream she wanted and when she asked for it at the counter this female employee said that they didn't have it since the machine was not turned on last night. My wife then asked "can you recommend some chocolate ones for me instead? " The employee rudely states can you just go look at the menu over there . There was a line behind us and we didn't want to take up too much time which is why my wife just asked for suggestions. The girl did not want to be bothered. One of her coworkers intervened and suggested 2 flavors for my wife to try even gave her two little samples of them. She was wonderful, kind, and efficient about the whole process. My wife chose ice cream flavor and thank the second employee for being helpful and patient with her. The "supervisor" on duty interrupted and accused my wife of being condescending for thanking the employee that was actually doing her job. We explained that we were just acknowledging that she was actually being patient and doing a great job. Supervisor was extremely rude and kept making faces. We will never go there again . It was so unprofessional and also embarrassing to be treated that way while acknowledging an employee who was actually doing great work.

I was at the Ice cream store wednesday May 20 in the afternoon with my grandson. I did not have my glasses and was trying to see the different ice creams when someone said i could not enter the store. I then moved back and tried to look at the flavors and was told to move out of the store. I was out of the store 6 inches behind the line. I tried again to look at the ice cream flavors and was directed to the 16 flavor display. I mentioned I wanted to see the flavors they had on the right side of the entrance. Again they said do not come in, I was not anywhere near the entrance, straining to look at the flavors the manager then stood in front of the door and said look at the board listing. Agian i mentioned I did not have my glasses, where again I was directed to the 16 flavores in the front. I want to say this was very poor service, the manager did not understand or did not want to understand that I could not read the listing of over 100 flavors they mentioned they had, but could only view the 16 flavors. Did I mention during this exchange I was the only person at the store and was not holding anything up. I think the manager (it was not the staff) should learn to work with elderly people better. My grandson (only 3 years old) forturnately was not disapointed, for there are many (MANY) ice cream shops near by. One that we went to on 1st street was GREAT and I would recommend anyone to go there.. Lastly for the price of the ice cream Over $7, I discovered other places were less expensive and you can even get ice cream at Henlopen Oyster House for $2.50. I would avoid this overcrowed, overpriced, and rude store. The only reason there is a one star rating versus zero is that google would not let me post this without a star rating.
